BARRY’S OF DOUGLAS
A PART OF HISTORY
The original Barry’s was established here in 1771 and quickly became the centre of life in Douglas. This was the mid-way stop for the tram which ran from Cork City to Crosshaven and it was a highlight for many passengers as they made their way from West Cork to the city, stopping off to be cared for by our predecessors and plied with food and drink until the tram line was closed in 1931.
